by Shaun C. Grenan

Follow the zouaves of the 10th New York Infantry from their inception in December of 1860 with President Lincoln's election, all the way through to the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia at Appomattox Court House in 1865.

The men of the National Zouaves were heavily engaged during the Seven Days' Campaign, Second Manassas, and more, and lost almost half of their number at the horrific Battle of Fredericksburg during the assault on the Confederate lines. Their reduced and reorganized veteran battalion continued on through the battles of Gettysburg, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Petersburg, and more, leaving their mark across the Eastern Theatre of war from 1861-1865.

With over 25 added photos, engravings, illustrations, and a complete muster roll, this new reprint of the 1882 original is part of the
Civil War Zouave Regimental Series.
