Out of the more than 250 Union regiments that fought at Gettysburg, more than 130 were accompanied by chaplains, and about 50 of those chaplains left records of their experiences. This book includes stories of those eyewitness accounts, taken from regimental histories, letters, newspaper articles, and memoirs, that provide a unique view of the Gettysburg campaign, the battle, the soldiers, and the chaplains' role.
